2018-2019 Tryout/Clinics Information

Tryouts/Evaluations: All Star ELITE & PREP Cheer & Dance

We are so excited you are interested in competitive cheer and dance! We will be holding a tryout session on April 28 for both All Star PREP & ELITE cheer and dance. We do our best to make this process as low-stress as possible. Athletes (5&up) will be given opportunities to demonstrate skills and show off a short, easy routine in small groups. If you plan to tryout and are able, you must attend the appropriate clinic, so your athlete has enough time to learn the routine. At tryouts, the coaches will spend only a small amount of time actually teaching the routine. Please see below for more information on the clinics. We understand if you are unable to attend the clinics, so there is a option where you can sign up for just the tryouts on April 28. The enrollment deadline is April 26 (Thursday). EVERYBODY will make a team! ​

  • Cheer & Dance Tryouts - April 28 (Saturday), 1:00-4:00 p.m

If you don't already have an parent portal account, please create one by clicking on the "Create Account" button and following the instructions. Clinics: All Star ELITE & PREP Cheer & Dance

To prepare for the 2018-2019 tryouts, clinics will be held during the week leading up to tryouts. This will help ensure the tryout process is as low-stress as possible. Attendance is highly recommended at the clinics; clinics give the coaches more time to spend with the athletes and make the best evaulations. Also, clinics will give the athlete plenty of time to learn the short, easy routine that they will show off in small groups at tryouts. The routine will include certain skills that is expected from each level of cheer / dance such as stunts and tumble passes. The enrollment for cheer clinic is open until April 21, and the dance clinic is open until April 23. Enroll by April 11 for either clinic to get a FREE t-shirt!! ​

  • Cheer Clinic - April 23 (Monday) & April 25 (Wednesday), 5:30-8:30 p.m.
    • Enrollment Deadline: April 21 (Saturday)
  • Dance Clinic - April 25 (Wednesday), 5:30-8:30p.m.
    • Enrollment Deadline: April 23 (Monday)

Frequently asked questions

How much is cheer and dance?

Depending upon the program/team you participate in, cost will vary. For the 2018-19 season, the pricing is available in the "Clinic/Tryout Info" document on this page! ALSO, don't forget we have a great fundraising program, so everyone has the opportunity to be an All Star! Check out our fundraising page under "Our Progams" to learn more.



If I've never tumbled before, can I still do cheer or dance?

Absolutely! We do our best to accomodate everyone at any age or skill level. We can teach you how to tumble. All our tumble classes are offered throughout the year and are available to all athletes involved in our cheer/dance program at NO additional charge.



How do I get started?

Getting started is easy! If you don't have an account with us (don't worry we won't spam you), you will need to create one by clicking on the "Create Account" button above and entering some info such as e-mail, password, name, athlete name. Once you've created your account, sign up for the desired clinic (Note: tryout sign up is included if you sign up for a clinic). If you have an account with us, use your regular login to register for the clinic.

How old does my athlete have to be in order to cheer?

Minimum age for cheer is 3 years old per USASF age grid. ME Desoto's 2018-2019 Tryout/Clinics are for only 5 years and up. For those younger athletes that are 3-4 years old All Star NOVICE), please e-mail memphiselite_desoto@yahoo.com.
